Blog #6- EOTO Project - YouTube

YouTube is today one of the largest film sharing/uploading platforms in the world with billions of watchers/viewers/contact creators. YouTube was created in 2005 by 3 guys. Steven Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim. The first idea for the platform of YouTube was when the founders were at a dinner party and they wanted to create something to share videos online and expire them to develop a friendly platform to use and upload videos. It also was made as a video dating online service for people to introduce themselves and to describe what they were looking for and a partner.

A big factor about YouTube  being created is the creators  were really frustrated since there was no simple way to upload/share videos in an easy way. So they created a platform to do so. YouTube has significantly changed our world today. With creating, making, and uploading content. There are so many factors that go into how YouTube changed our world by showing different ways. People could have platforms to share their videos regarding what their background is to show creator‘s content and how it’s influencing people to have careers in that field or just to reach their audience. There’s so many educational resources on YouTube with tutorials, lectures, how to make certain things, anything you possibly need an educational resource for it will be on YouTube. Another aspect is that it changes in our world with entertainment, advertising, and marketing different things. People could show all their different marketing techniques and how they Collab with different Youtubers with different brands and how it reaches certain audiences to give them a significant part of a digital marketing.

Although all the good significant life-changing factors that YouTube brings, there’s also a lot of negative factors back in the day when YouTube was first created that a lot of people didn’t like users would be able to post, share, and view content without restriction so basically anyone could see anything and post whatever because there wasn’t a restriction guide back in the day when it was first made. Children can also view videos that would be maybe considered strange, explicit words, or maybe even sexual content. Because at the time there was no restriction guide. Also other factors that were big problems were YouTube is trying to provide a platform where anyone could upload a video and watch contact without barriers or cost because now since there’s so many restrictions with copyright in all of that, people are making money back in the day off of that and they were stealing other people‘s content without barriers or restriction.

YouTube has a huge impact on the world by connecting people all over the world and giving them a voice. YouTube changed the world by giving so many people different outlets to connect over each other’s videos, but also giving them a way to make money by doing certain stuff they love. It was an easy way for people to upload, share videos to reach other people around the world could build different communities by sharing interest, but also connecting with each other with something they both love.

Blog #3- 8 Values of Free Expression

The eight values of free expression are a huge function in our society today. It brings you the way of finding truth which values and allows for the exchange of different interpretations of uncovering the truth. Having other different people’s values with their opinions can have the public involved as well. With being to have a free expression on what you believe. It will also help support individuals by fulfilling their expression of their ideas and beliefs.I think it’s a good way that it helps advance knowledge and gives free expression. It can also maintain peaceful means through solving conflicts.

The most important I believe and most personal to me I think would be individual self-fulfillment. I believe this is the most important because it’s a true factor of free expression that allows growth to one’s potential. It empowers the free expression for personal growth and self reflection. By being able to have free thoughts, ideas, creative outlooks that can influence and achieve our lives fulfilling. It’s a value where people could have a voice in their way and in their perspective show what they’re going through their experiences with all having a purpose in just a free sense of welcomeness. I think it’s truly the most important because as we’re going through a time of people’s different expressions of passions. I think that having self -information is truly the most important. Growing up in a household that my parents truly wanted our own voices with all 3 of my brothers to have different opinions with each other and that we all have had a voice, so we really didn’t discuss politics on a manner of what our parents believe but they would encourage us to learn about it so we have our own opinions and we wouldn’t really share with each other. What ours were because my parents thought that we had her own voice to talk to and that we shouldn’t be influenced by what their opinions were or my brothers. While growing up having that nowadays, I feel like it’s very rare because everyone kind of just follows their family or what they believe and it’s not really a self informant expression when I feel like they could maybe take a back, maybe they still believe the same stuff but it’s truly what they believe. Individual self-fulfillment definitely has to feel the most important and personal to me. Individual self-information definitely has to feel the most important and personal to me and I also could see this nowadays, but not as much as I see.

I believe the most important one I could see nowadays would probably be advancing knowledge with going through this election and even way before the election I feel like people just need to know their knowledge before having a big opinion on everything and kind of just understanding that other people have opinions which is perfectly fine but to accept that which I feel like nowadays, it’s really hard and it’s more like of a competition/argument, then more of freedom of expression.
